Bad Day out with the Pack

Saturday was my 57th Birthday. It wasn't a good one. Long story short a hunting buddy and I were asked to come help out a Hunting Club with their Feral Hog problem. They were over run and the Hogs were laying waste to their green plots. We arrived and in the process of gearing the dogs up one of my Airedales "LoLo"ran ahead down the logging road where she was shot at close range by a trigger happy idiot. I wont go through the details that followed, it's still very painful but I got her to the vet and she survived, but is going to loose her left rear leg. I know there are a lot of "Real" sportsmen out there but at the same time there are a lot of stupid macho want-to-be idiots roaming the woods also. Take care everyone and keep your head down.

That is a horrible thing. As a hound and terrier hunter/owner that is one of my greatest fears.I offer my condolences.

Bro, I am so sorry to hear that. In my world when a dog gets shot the shooter takes one at 40 yards in the back as well.

About Me

My photo
I’m a Southern Boy, just 56 last November, I get around here and there, Central America, Africa, Red Bay. I’m a Father, Grandfather, Husband, Artist and general flunky of sorts. Live in a little historic town in an old building I remodeled. Just wanted to hear myself think I guess, talk about the need of simplification, show some art, express an interest or two, brag on my dogs and see where it goes. That’s it!, That’s the deal, Thanks
