National Bird Dog Hall of Fame
The Old Ames Hotel in Grand Junction Tennessee the location of the Museum. The Ames had been hotel from 1919 till 1984 when it burned. It saw many years of Field Trial Guests there in grand Junction . The National Bird Dog Field Trials takes place there every February. I will be there next year to give you a first hand report.
Sandi and I had to stop and take in some southern heritage and history on our way to Memphis to hear Zac Brown. There are literally hundreds of paintings of dogs, exhibits of guns, trophies, historical photographs, the hats of famous owners, trainers and important conversationists that have all helped to further the world of one type of Southern Sportsmanship. There is also the National Field Trial Museum and a whole wing dedicated to Retrievers. I understand they are raising money to expand a 5000 sq ft wing for Brittanys, German Shorthaired Pointers, (The Logcabineer will appreciate this) and other Continental Breeds. A very well done Museum that evokes the importance of Bird Hunting and Dogs in our Southern Culture. The place seems almost sacred especially when I gazed into the eyes of dogs and masters and thought of what it was like back when the South was thick with the pure southern birds and the dogs and men and women that lived to hunt them.
Beautifully preserved, the character of a champion and the beloved friend of an owner "Count Noble", he must of been a hell of a dog! A hundred years old and He's still beautiful.

About Me
- Just Another Savage!
- I’m a Southern Boy, just 56 last November, I get around here and there, Central America, Africa, Red Bay. I’m a Father, Grandfather, Husband, Artist and general flunky of sorts. Live in a little historic town in an old building I remodeled. Just wanted to hear myself think I guess, talk about the need of simplification, show some art, express an interest or two, brag on my dogs and see where it goes. That’s it!, That’s the deal, Thanks
